2023 Director Nomination And Election Process

At the 2023 Annual General Meeting, Autism Alliance of Canada’s Board of Directors will have an opening for up to two new Directors.

Nominations for these open Director positions will be accepted from organization and community members. Each year, we look for more geographical and cultural diversity for our Board. This year, we are particularly interested in applications from: Saskatchewan, Quebec, the Maritimes, and the North. Also, we are interested in rurality and Indigeneity as factors for consideration.

In terms of skill sets, we are specifically looking for someone interested in assuming the role of Treasurer with financial expertise.  We would also welcome nominations from individuals with experience in government relations, public policy or health systems research and knowledge translation.

The Governance Committee assesses and makes recommendations regarding nominees for election and re-election by the Members of the Corporation. The process for 2023 will be as follows:

  • Nominations for an appointment on the Board of Directors shall be made by Autism Alliance of Canada members and emailed to the Board of Directors’ Chair.
  • The Governance Committee may also recruit nominations based on gaps identified in the Board of Directors Skills Matrix.

Please ensure that your membership with Autism Alliance of Canada is up to date prior to submitting a nomination.

Nominations must be emailed to Franziska Morin, Executive Coordinator, at no later than midnight Pacific Time on February 17, 2023. Please include the following information:

  • Name and status of membership
  • Resume
