Autism Alliance of Canada on CTV to Discuss Barriers Faced by Families in Accessing Supports Across Canada

On June 12, 2021, Autism Alliance of Canada*’s Scientific Director, Dr. Deepa Singal, was interviewed by Heather Butts on CTV National News on the barriers families face in accessing supports across Canada.

Discrepancies between provincial policies and support services often result in families moving across the border to seek better health services.

It is a really common story, and that’s a result of fragmented and inequitable service delivery. Moving to a province with better support could mean the difference of a nonverbal child saying, ‘mommy’ or ‘daddy’ one day.
