The next federal election has been called for September 20, 2021.

Now more than ever, we need strong, focused federal leadership with an unwavering commitment to bring provinces and territories together to develop a unified, cohesive and effective approach to equally provide best-in-class supports and resources to Autistic people living in Canada, no matter their postal code.

CASDA has curated the following resources and advocacy materials to help you inform yourself and engage with your local candidates.

CASDA has developed an election toolkit to help you advocate for swift action on the National Autism Strategy this election.

Formal Platform Requests

We reached out to each of the main federal parties to seek a commitment on the implementation of a National Autism Strategy by 2023, to be included in their election platforms. View the letters sent to Bloc Québécois, the Conservative Party, the Green Party, the Liberal Party, and the New Democratic Party.

We will be sharing their responses as they are received, in this Twitter thread.

Candidate Sign-On Letter

We have also developed a sign-on letter for all candidates, if elected, to commit to prompt implementation of a National Autism Strategy, following the release of the final report on autism by the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) in early 2022.

CASDA will be reaching out to candidates directly, and you are also welcome to send it to the candidates in your riding. The list of candidates who have signed will be updated here.
